The GrowIt! community is your destination for finding the answers, resources, and connections needed to grow plants -- fruits, vegetables, herbs, shrubs, flowers, the list goes on and on. It's made up of hundreds of thousands of experienced and novice gardeners. We strive to create a helpful, inspiring, supportive community, so we ask that all users review and abide by the following Community Guidelines.
We understand that gardening is a journey. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and connect. Here, you'll meet people from all stages of the gardening journey -- folks that have "been there done that" and others who are trying to turn their thumb green. Together we'll help you set course through uncharted territory, and make great friends along the way.
Connect: The Community is all about sharing with -- and learning from -- people like you! We are all part of this group because of a shared passion for gardening, and each grower has areas of expertise to share and areas of opportunity to ask about.
Collaborate: This community thrives when you are in the driver seat. It's on you and all other users to jump in, start a conversation, help another user, and build something meaningful.
Share: Tell us about your successes and ask questions. Not only do we want to "oooh" and "awww" at your stunning plants, but we also want to provide support and advice while you work through obstacles. Share your stories in the Community and help others learn from your experiences.
Mentor: Lend a helping hand to those just starting out. Help ID a plant if you can. Remember at one point, you were new to this too. If even you don't have the perfect solution to offer, make a point to welcome new users and make them feel at home.
The following practices can help guide your interactions in the Community. Keep these tips in mind when posting and engaging with others in this space.
Complete your profile: Share a little bit about yourself and your garden. The more you personalize and humanize your profile and posts, the more likely you are to grow your network and receive help!
Be polite: Respect your fellow users by keeping your tone positive and your comments constructive. Good or bad, your experiences are always welcome as long as you offer them in a courteous way.
Follow others: What makes GrowIt! special is the ability to connect with others -- it's a Community. In the Explore feed, you'll find growers in your area that can answer questions about hardiness, soil, and weather conditions. Expand your radius, search for your favorite plant, and find gardeners that inspire.
If you break the following rules of conduct, either intentionally or by accident, we will issue a warning and either edit or remove your post. Persistent or excessive misconduct may result in a temporary or even permanent suspension of your ability to post. And because these rules can't cover everything, we also reserve the right to remove any content or suspend your account without prior notice and at our discretion. GrowIt! staff has full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is problematic, and we will evaluate each incident on a case by case basis.
The GrowIt! Community is a place where gardeners, public gardens, and retailers collaborate with each other.
While the GrowIt! Community contains a wealth of user-generated advice, remember that your situation (hardiness zone, variety, etc.) may vary from that of the individual sharing a solution. Some advice you find here may even be wrong. Apply the same good judgment here that you would apply to information anywhere on the Internet. GrowIt! is not responsible and does not endorse the advice, workarounds, or solutions shared in the Community.
Finally, while our team will make all efforts to ensure a pleasant experience in the Community, all users are responsible for their actions. We also rely on you to help us maintain this space and identify problems when they arise. If you are concerned about the actions or behavior of another user, please use the "Report" button within the app. One of our moderators will review the report as soon as possible and handle it accordingly.
If you have questions about any of these guidelines, feel free to email our team at email@example.com.
Thanks for reading. Support each other, be kind, and help us keep this community great!
